Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has announced the BPSSC ASI (Operation) Recruitment 2026 on its official website for a total of 462 vacancies. The online application process has started from 04 February 2026 and will remain open till 04 March 2026. Candidates applying for the Assistant Sub Inspector (Operation) post must be at least 21 years old, while the maximum age limit ranges from 37 to 42 years, depending on the category, as on 01 August 2025. BPSSC ASI (Operation) Recruitment 2026 : Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must hold a B.Sc degree with Physics and have scored at least 50% marks. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 45%.

BPSSC ASI (Operation) Recruitment 2026 : Physical Exam Details 

(a) Height

  1. Unreserved / Backward Class (Male): Minimum 165 cm

  2. Extremely Backward Class / SC / ST (Male): Minimum 160 cm

  3. All Categories (Female): Minimum 155 cm

(b) Chest (For Male Candidates Only)

  1. Unreserved / Backward Class / Extremely Backward Class:

    • Without expansion: 81 cm (minimum)

    • With expansion: 86 cm (minimum)

    • Chest expansion must be at least 5 cm

  2. SC / ST:

    • Without expansion: 79 cm (minimum)

    • With expansion: 84 cm (minimum)

    • Chest expansion must be at least 5 cm

  3. Female Candidates: Chest measurement not required

(c) Weight

  • Female candidates (all categories): Minimum 48 kg

(d) Transgender Candidates
For Transgender / Intersex / Third Gender candidates, identification and category determination will be done as per the provisions of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2020, Gazette Notification No. 483 dated 25-09-2020, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The District Magistrate will issue an identity certificate in Form-3 following the prescribed procedure under Rule 4, and the candidate’s category will be decided accordingly.
